University of California, Davis, Center for Plant Diversity - Bryophyte Herbarium (DAV-Bryophytes)

The DAV bryophyte collection consists of 1200 specimens, 750 are from the western United States, 450 from California. Notable collectors: T.C. Frye (N. America), F.R. Fosberg (French Polynesia), G.H. Snodgrass (California) Jack Major (northern Alaska and Canada), A.T. Whittemore (California), and S.P. Rae (California). Recent flora sets added are from University of California Reserve units: Stebbins Cold Canyon and Quail Ridge Reserves. Other notable collections include tardigrade host species, collected by D.S. Horning and colleagues of the Bohart Museum of Entomology in New Zealand and Antarctica. The collection is under active curation and data entry in 2021-2022 by Karen Kyutoku, Alison Colwell and Stephen Rae.
