Growing on wet soil under rock recess in splash zone of 2 ft. tall cascading waterfall uderneath 70% canopy cover of Pseudotsuga menziesii, Lithocarpus densiflorus, Arbutus menziesii, Acer macrophyllum, Cornus nuttallii, Pinus ponderosa and Calocedrus decurrens in a N-facing drainage.
Costa not confluent with limbidium; juxtacostal median cells elongate, 10-15 microns.
