South end of meadow, between stands of 3 m tall Salix lucida ssp. lasiandra and scattered Populus tremuloides on vegetation-clogged drainage. Dense herbaceous vegetation, average height approaches 1 m, dominated by Polygonum bistortoides, Eleocharis pauciflora, Carex spp. Surrounding forest is composed of Abies magnifica, Pinus jefferyii, Abies concolor. No evidence of recent fires. Alliance is Polygonum bistortoides Herbaceous Alliance. 320 degrees aspect. Surficial geology is granite. Soil is poorly drained, texture is organics.
