Open WSW sloping meadow in Ponderosa pine dominated mixed conifer forest (also madrone, incense cedar, black oak, Douglas-fir); meadow densely vegetated with Carex hirtissima, places with thick Holcus lanatus or Symphoricarpos; also Ranunculus occidentalis, Eleocharis bolanderi, Prunella vulgaris, etc. On moist pine needle duff along lower shady edge of the meadow.
